Jonel Nuezca, a convict ex-cop, died inside the Bilibid in a mysterious death. Find out what actually went down on the life of a Former Police Senior Master Sergeant. 

Jonel Nuezca was a former police officer who was convicted of the murder of a mother and her son. He was guilty of two counts of murder on Thursday, August 26. 

Police Lieutenant Colonel Noriel Rombaoa confirmed the court decision to Rappler. As per Rombaoa, the local court promulgated the decision at around 8 pm on Thursday. 

The OCPNP read that the ex-cop would penalty of Reclusion Perpetua. He also would have to pay heirs of Sonia P476,000. Likewise, the court also ordered the convict to pay the same amount to the heirs of Frank. 

Who Is Jonel Nuezca?

Jonel Nuezca is the latest high-profile Bilibid convict who died inside the national penitentiary.

It has been hounded with several controversies and also includes mysterious deaths from the onset of the pandemic to now. 

In December 2020, the ex-cop shit killed Sonya Gregorio (52) and her son Frank (25) after a heated argument. The entire happening tragic incident was caught on the camera which later went viral all over the internet.

As seen in the video, Nuezca fired the shots so suddenly that the victims couldn’t even react. Prior to the homicide, he had also faced homicide raps, six cases of grave misconduct, demotion over robbery and extortion charges, and other issues. 

After the incident, critics slammed the Philippine National Police calling an end to the police brutality and impunity in the country. Meanwhile, PNP chief PGen Guillermo Eleazar said in his statement that Nuezca’s case serves as a lesson reminding them they are protectors and not tormentors. 

Latest News On Officer Jonel Nuezca Wife 

Jonel Nuezca was married to his wife Leilanie Aquino Nuezca. His wife and daughter witnessed him murdering their neighbors on December 20, 2020. 

There is no information on where is his wife now. She has kept her life far from the limelight after the situation. Nuezca’s wife is living a low-key life after Nuezca was convicted of a brutal murder of a mother and her son.

It is not sure if she still lives in the same house or has moved out after the incident. After the conviction, Nuezca was dismissed from the Police force. Even President Rodrigo Dueterte called him “sick in the brain” after getting the wind of the crime. 

Where Are Officer Jonel Nuezca Children And Family?

Jonel Nuezca and his wife Leilanie had a daughter together. There is no information about his children and family out on the media. 

After the murder, the Commission on Human Rights on Monday urged people to stop threatening Nuezca’s daughter. The video had shown the former cop’s daughter verbally arguing with the victims before her father pulled out the gun and shot them dead. 

The CHR spokesperson stated people should refrain from publically criticizing the daughter considering she is just a minor. Considering the daughter’s vulnerability and the family’s safety, they have not disclosed any information about them.
