Shane Reed Wife: Who is Tammy Kendall?

Shane Reed was a triathlete and aquathlete from New Zealand. Reed married Tammy Kendall, a fellow New Plymouth triathlete, in October 2005.

They met in Hawaii and married until he died. They had two children together. They lived in Palmerston North, where Reed was the head coach of the Kiwi West Aquatics until his death in July 2021.

Known for his talent as a cartoonist, he illustrated cartoons for triathlon magazines during his early years in the sport.

Reed took part in his first triathlon when he was 21 years old. In 2004, he finished seventh in the ITU World Triathlon Championships in Madeira, Portugal.

In addition, he finished eleventh at the 2005 ITU World Triathlon Championships in Gamagori, Japan.  Reed won gold medals at the ITU Aquathlon World Championships in 1998, 1999, and 2004.

Shane Reed died of brain cancer at the age of 49 on 30 October 2022. Shane Reed was diagnosed with a brain tumour in April.
