Meet Shock G Father Edward Racker: Was The Rapper Gay?

The frontman of Digital Underground Shock G’s father Edward Racker confirmed the death of the rapper. 

The rap legend, Shock G was found dead on Thursday in a hotel room in Tampa. The rapper was 57 years old.

Shock G was a lead singer of the hip-hop group, Digital Underground. He was famously known as “Humpty Hump”, for the group’s famous 1989 hit song called “The Humpty Dance”.

Who Is Shock G’s Father Edward Racker?

There is not much information on the rapper’s father.

Edward Racker talked to TMZ to confirm his son’s demise.

Edward said that he was not informed of any signs of trauma and the cause of death of his son is still unclear.

The family is waiting for the autopsy report to find out what happened.

Chopmaster J, the co-founder, and co-creator of Digital Underground paid an emotional tribute to this friend Shock G via an Instagram post. 

Was The Rapper Gay?

Shock G was never married in his life. There were rumors that Shock G is probably a closeted gay man or bisexual. 

However, he never confirmed any rumors about his sexual orientation. 

Edward Racker’s Wife And Family

Edward Rackers divorced his wife in 1978. The name of his ex-wife is not revealed.

It is not known how many children does Edward has. 

Shock G is his only famous child. Shock G was born Gregory Jacobs on August 25, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York. He spent most of his childhood in Tampa, Florida. 

Shock G was enrolled in Greco Junior High School where he won the “Most Talented” trophy as a drummer in 1978. In the same year, he had to leave Florida for Queens, New York after his parents got divorced.

He discovered hip-hop in New York and formed the band Digital Underground in the late 1980s with Chopmaster J and Kenneth Water.
